Berg-Katze is such a terrifying villain on so many different levels.
On the one level you’ve got B-K being so outright destructive and gleefully murderous that you’re just sitting there with your jaw down to your knees and wondering if Batman’s going to show up to deal with this Joker stand-in.
On another there’s the fact that B-K is outright a manipulative, lying asshole that preys upon both people’s good intentions and their frustration when their “heroic” goals aren’t being reached, and it’s like looking at that part of yourself that tells you that you can’t really accomplish anything, you can’t change anything without destroying something first.
And then there’s what Sugane and O.D. talk about in Episode 8 - that B-K is “like a troublesome child.” In light of what Hajime says earlier about children making a ruckus and getting rough because they want something - “probably love” - it just parallels abusive relationships and how terrifyingly amoral children can be sometimes because they don’t understand consequences for others.
All of this combined with the… the… well I lack a word to describe it but the total and utter violations of personal space that we see B-K repeatedly committing has me feeling like if I were in that situation I’d be trying to bite their fucking fingers off get the fuck away from me
This is just me rambling right now, I’m not really trying to keep this coherent or anything. I just…
YE GODS Berg-Katze creeps me out like no other villain does.
